This rug was woven by the Jaff Kurds of the Northern and Central Zagros mountains during the late 19th century.

It features the classic Jaff interlocking diamond pattern in bright, cheerful colors. The palette is exceptionally rich, with deep madder red, indigo blue, saffron yellow, ivory, and touches of soft green. Each diamond compartment has its own personality, yet the overall effect is one of harmony and movement. The star-filled borders frame the design with balance and completeness, enhancing its jewel-like character.

In very good condition. There are some minor worn spots. A thick meaty pile of soft wool and a hefty handle.
