This finely woven Sarouk exemplifies the lush floral language that made the region’s carpets among the most sought-after of 1920s. Set against a deep midnight-blue ground, an intricate lattice of scrolling vines, palmettes, and rosettes unfolds with remarkable density and clarity, anchored by a subtle central medallion that gives structure to the otherwise allover composition.
The palette is completed with saturated reds and soft coral tone balanced by ivory highlights and touches of pale turquoise and celadon. The drawing is assured but organic, with motifs that feel animated rather than rigid, a hallmark of high-quality Sarouk weaving.
