Vank Cathedral was established in 1606 following the forced relocation of nearly 500,000 Armenians to Isfahan by Shah Abbas during the Persian-Ottoman war. cacophony of colors. Mount Ararat (Մասիս) resting place of Noah's Ark. Woven by Mohammedi of Qum for Vank Church of Isfahan. Mohammedi is a renowned master weaver.

This Oval Chinese Deco Rug features an open field of seafoam green. Its unadorned center is surrounded by an oval ring of various multicolored blossoms. Single rosettes adorn the outer perimeter of the oval ring.  In very good condition, with full even pile. Pile is thickly woven and medium height, with a sturdy handle.

This Yellow and Mauve Deco Runner Rug features a striking contrast of a purple ground encapsulated by a canary yellow border. This Sultanabad was handwoven in Western Iran during the early 20th century.   It features a central medallion that floats on an open and expansive golden camel ground. The field is bare other than the medallion and four cornices each mimicking a mirorred quadrant of the medallion. Framed by a main border of scrolling vegetation in pink, green, ivory and gold on an icy blue ground.  Well-balanced with a desirable palette in a hard to come by size.

It features one large central medallion and four smaller medallions on the top and bottom of this wide and narrow format which is common for type.
