A richly colored tribal rug with a striking double-column format of two tall elongated medallions on a deep indigo ground, each structured around a vertical spine of diamond forms quartered in olive and cream. The m red field between and around them reads almost as a third element, giving the composition an unusual density. Colors throughout are well-preserved with navy, red, ivory, and a muted green that surfaces in the medallion interiors and guard borders.
The rug has strong tribal character, with saturated color, confident geometric drawing, and a structure that rewards close looking. The ivory main border carries large octagonal rosettes and reciprocal zigzag guards frame the field on either side.
