This silk jajim was handwoven by the Shahsavan during the 19th century.
This type of weaving was utilized as a bedding cover by nomads or in a village setting. This piece features rich, deeply saturated tones in bands of red, blue, yellow, green, ivory, and brown woven in a very fine silk. Warpface woven in multiple strips that have been sewn together. A collector's piece with exceptional dyes and materiality that is all about COLOR. A powerful piece that would be very impactful hung on the wall.
In very good condition with some areas of wear (as pictured)
