This Kazak runner was woven in the South Caucasus at the turn of the 20th century.
It features a thin long field of polygons on a red ground with a stepped surround of alternating "E" forms on the interior and various floral forms on the exterior. It is framed by a geometric meander main border on an ivory ground. In a hard-to-come-by size.
It very good condition. Low pile with a floppy yet firm handle.
