19th Century Colorful Kurdish Rug - 4'x 7'5

An exceptional Kurdish rug distinguished above all by its top-notch color and superb wool. The field is composed of lively diagonal bands, each carrying a different floral or geometric repeat and shifting through saturated brick red, deep indigo, grassy green, ivory, ochre, aubergine, and soft rose.

The quality of the wool gives the surface a rich, lustrous handle and helps the colors read with unusual depth and clarity. The diagonal striping creates a wonderfully animated, almost patchwork effect, while the multiple floral borders provide a strong architectural frame.
