Two early Coptic tapestry-woven fragments, mounted and framed for preservation and display. Darker bands and figural elements emerge subtly from the undyed ground, their forms softened by time yet still remarkably legible.
The left fragment retains a vertical ornamental band with repeating roundels and stylized motifs, while the right preserves portions of figural decoration, likely once part of a larger tunic panel or furnishing textile. The earthy palette and rhythmic geometry are characteristic of Late Antique Egyptian weaving, where classical, early Christian, and local visual traditions intersect.
Presented together, these fragments function as both archaeological artifact and abstract composition of quiet, textural works that carry over a millennium of history into a contemporary setting.
