A vibrant woven cinta from Zunil, Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. This long headdress band is brocaded with repeating multicolored motifs, including geometric diamonds and stylized human figures in bright yellow, green, red, and white against a richly patterned ground. A finely made lidded basket attributed to the Kuba peoples of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, constructed from broad strips of plant fiber in a tightly worked herringbone plait.

The tall, compact form is animated by a bold chevron pattern that shifts direction across the surface, giving the basket a distinctly architectural quality. The fitted lid continues the same interlocking weave, creating a unified sculptural form when closed.
